Mr. Ernest Wife - Assistant Headmaster (Academics) of Prempeh College

Assistant head teacher of Academics of Prempeh college in Kumasi - sofoline , Mr. Ernest Wiafe, has commended the government's double track system policy, announced by the education minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

He said the double track system policy is very timely , thus it came at the right time it is needed , saying

"The intervention is that it is very timely,very good and I believe all of us should put our shoulders in the wheel" Mr. Wiafe said in an exclusive interview with the crusader newspaper.

According to him, there is no alternative apart from being selective , leaving some students to deny them the opportunity of continuing to the second cycle institution.

"Besides we do not have any alternative; the only alternative is to select some students and leave out some, so I think its a good thing". Mr. Ernest Wiafe added.

His comment follows the initiation of a two semester system similar to that run in tertiary institutions moving from three school term process; where the entire student body is divided into two different tracks , so while one track is in school, the other is on vacation.

In this vane, Mr. Wiafe pleads with parents and guardians to engage their wards after a semester so as to be active in the learning process. He continued to say that some parents overstretch the free Senior High School, meanwhile petty supplements like mathematical sets, calculators and Elective course's textbooks - core subject textbooks are provided by the government to facilitate smooth running of studies.

"Though an Eighteen unit classroom block under construction is to be handed over to the school at the ending of August by the state through GetFund, for now , we have an uncompleted assembly hall which has helped mankind all over the world ; its a GetFund project and its yet to be completed: we had promises upon promises but still... ".  He revealed. 

"This aims at cutting class and its corresponding number roommates to ensure quality tutorship" he supplemented.

Mr. Ernest Wiafe suggests that the government maintains the double track system initiative and focus on providing quality Academically needed items to solicit  quality tutorship and since double track system is new, sensitization of the public is very necessary.
